manga 1

Orange by Takano Ichigo

Goodreads | Summary

A Plea From the Future!

On the day that Naho begins 11th grade, she receives a letter from herself ten years in the future. At first, she writes it off as a prank, but as the letter’s predictions come true one by one, Naho realizes that the letter might be the real deal. Her future self tells Naho that a new transfer student, a boy named Kakeru, will soon join her class. The letter begs Naho to watch over him, saying that only Naho can save Kakeru from a terrible future. Who is this mystery boy, and can Naho save him from his destiny?

I love this manga! It is heartfelt and beautifully written/illustrated. I think this manga is perfect for people who are just starting out reading manga. It is like a YA book but in manga form. Plus, the art style is out of this world! I highly recommend it and I do hope you will give it a try.

manga 2

Kamisama Kiss by Julietta Suzuki

Goodreads | Summary

A divine comedy!

Nanami Momozono is alone and homeless after her dad skips town to evade his gambling debts and the debt collectors kick her out of her apartment. So when a man she’s just saved from a dog offers her his home, she jumps at the opportunity. But it turns out that his place is a shrine, and Nanami has unwillingly taken over his job as a local deity!

Nanami has all kinds of new responsabilities she doesn’t understand, dangers she’s unaware of, and a cranky ex-familiar who’s… actually pretty hot. What’s a new-fledged godling to do?

This manga is so cute and funny! The characters are amazing and the story takes you on a ride that you soon won’t forget. The art is so cute as well! I love the eyes in this manga….that’s a bit weird but the way eyes are drawn in this manga I just adore!

manga 4

Kimi ni Todoke by Karuho Shiina

Goodreads | Summary

Sawako Kuronuma is the perfect heroine…for a horror movie. With striking similarities to a haunting movie character–jet-black hair, sinister smile and silent demeanor–she’s mistakenly called Sadako by those around her. But behind her scary façade is a very misunderstood teenager. Too shy to fit in, all she wants to do is make some friends. But when the most popular boy in class befriends her, she’s sure to make more than just that–she’s about to make some enemies too!

THIS MANGA! It is so heart-warming and the innocent of the main character is so refreshing for the soul! I love watching the main character learn, make friends and work out misunderstandings with people. It is a simple story with a powerful meaning(s).

manga 3

Shugo Chara by Peach-Pit

Goodreads | Summary

Everybody at Seiyo Elementary thinks that stylish and super cool Amu has it all: But nobody knows the real Amu, a shy girl who wishes she had the courage to truly be herself. Changing Amu’s life is going to take more than wishes and dreams–it’s going to take a little magic! One morning, Amu finds a surprise in her bed: three strange little eggs. Each egg contains a Guardian Character, an angel-like being who can give her the power to be someone new. With the help of her Guardian Characters, Amu is about to discover that her true self is even more amazing than she ever dreamed.

This manga is one of the first ones I ever read so I might be a bit bias because of that BUT it is so creative and interesting. It is twist on the magical girl theme because it deals with who you want to be in life. It is a great story. I highly recommend this one as well!
