Seven Books For 2017

Links & Mini Reviews Included

2017 best 2

I can’t believe that it is 2018! Where did 2017 go? I learned so much last year…mostly about myself. I might write up a post about everything I learned if that is something you would like to read. Last year was a whirlwind but I did read some books that were out of my comfort zone and I am happy to say they were some of my favorites of the year! So, always try to read new things because now my reading horizon is wider?…vaster? Do you know what I am trying to say? *finger guns* …Yes, I am that lame…On to the books!

2017 best 1

I am going to try and talk about each book in the order I read them and I will have links for them all with a tiny mini review of each books, explaining why they made it on this list.

“Hope is a powerful thing. Some say it’s a different breed of magic altogether. Elusive, difficult to hold on to. But not much is needed.”
Stephanie Garber, Caraval

5 Stars | Goodreads | Amazon

I just adore this book for two main reasons…the sisterhood and the Caraval (the game/the world). I am very close to my twin sister so I love reading about sisters. There’s not enough books about family love. I don’t even know where to start…the world or the game (I am not sure what to call it…) is so witty and whimsical. It is one hell of a ride with a beautiful love story that isn’t petty.

OH MY GOSH THE END OF THIS BOOK! I will never be over the end of this book…I highly recommend this book and I am sure you have all the hype surrounding this book and I think it is well worth it!

“Only you can decide what breaks you, Cursebreaker. Only you.”
Sarah J. Maas, A Court of Wings and Ruin

4.5 Stars (writing) | 5 Stars (for the experience) | Goodreads | Amazon

I don’t even know where to start because if you know me then you know that this series is one of my favorites. I can’t express my feelings in words and since I try to keep my blog spoil free it is even harder. I will say that this book isn’t written as good as the 2nd one but I still love it. The writing felt rushed in some places which is why I gave it a 4.5 Stars for the writing but for the experience of reading the book it gets a full 5 Stars!

sun star

“Maybe part of falling in love with someone else is also falling in love with yourself.”
Nicola Yoon, The Sun Is Also a Star

5 Stars | Goodreads | Amazon

This book owns my heart! Even if you didn’t like Everything Everything you have to read this one because it blows Everything Everything out of the water and then across land! It is a beautiful story of love, family, friendship and the Universe. I feel like everyone talks about this book but if you don’t know what it is about then it’s a story of a girl whose family is about to be deported back to Jamaica and a boy who is Korean-American and their first and last day together.

“He’d almost told the princess that she could keep Hellas’s Horse, but there was something to be said about the prospect of charging down Morath foot soldiers atop a horse named Butterfly.”
Sarah J. Maas, Tower of Dawn

5 Stars | Goodreads | Amazon

THIS BOOK! I don’t know how Sarah does it….but she does it! The writing, the character development and the way she paces and move her story along…it is an unbeatable talent that I seen in few authors. This is the six book of the Throne of Glass series and it was going to just be a novella but it became a full book which I was nervous about but now it is in my top three favorite books from this series.

If you have read the other books and you have issues with Chaol please read this book! I’m begging you. Begging you! It will show what and why Chaol acted the way he did and give you a better understanding of him.

“She had hoped. And hope broke more hearts than any man ever could.”
Cora Carmack, Roar

5 Stars | Goodreads | Amazon

I just randomly bought this book near the end of the year. I heard good things about it but I didn’t expecting to love this book as much as I do. It have a sweet, loving and steamy romance with a unique setting. What more can you ask for? Fantastic witting? A great anti-hero? A weak princess becoming a freaking powerful queen? Well, this book have all that and more!

two girls down

“Cap truly believed there was nothing harder than being a kid. You were always an alien trying to learn the earth rules.”
Louisa Luna, Two Girls Down

4.5 Stars | Goodreads | Amazon

I don’t read many Adult Fiction books but when the publishers asked if I wanted to review this last year I couldn’t say no because I thought this could be my chance to break into this genre and I am so happy to say that I love this book! I am proud of myself for reading it and if you are a fan of the show Law and Order SVU then I think you will really like this book!

“May your song guide you home.”
Sophia Elaine Hanson, Vinyl

4.5 Stars | Goodreads | Amazon

I know I am using the 2nd book for the photo but I couldn’t find a photo of just Vinyl so I am using Radio. The author was kind enough to send me a copy for review and I fell in love with the characters and the world! The setting is so cool and different from anything that I read of late. For a quick summary Vinyl is about using music as a weapon! How cool is this concept? I believe that the series will be better and better with each book.

So, these are my seven books for 2017! What are a few books that became your favorite last year? Do you have any reading goals for this year? I just want to read more. I have some blogging goals I want to succeed at but we will see!

Hope you are having a good start of the year and happy reading!
